Breastfeeding Counseling

I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) and have over 11 years and thousands of hours of experience providing comprehensive breastfeeding education and assistance to mothers and babies to help them achieve their breastfeeding goals. I also have extensive experience and special interest in identifying the different types of tongue tie.

I can provide breastfeeding education and consultations in the privacy of your home before and/or after your baby is born.

A few examples of breastfeeding services that I can provide:

*Prenatal breastfeeding education classes

*Prenatal planning on increasing breastfeeding success in special circumstances

*Assistance with nipple soreness/pain

*Assistance with newborn weight loss/slow weight gain

*Evaluation for different types of tongue tie, lip tie and abnormal tongue movements

*Concerns about breastmilk supply

*Getting baby back to breastfeeding

*Assistance with weaning from nipple shields

*When baby refuses to breastfeed

*Induced lactation or relactation

Private In-Home Breastfeeding Counseling

Cost: $40 an hour due at time of service - initial consultation is usually 2 hours. Pricing is for Salem-area. For consultations outside of Salem, a mileage charge may be added. Additional assistance by phone/email, no extra charge after initial consultation. If cost prohibits you, please contact me - I reserve limited appointments for low cost and/or trade.

Breastfeeding Education For Medical Staff and Healthcare Providers

Trainings are also available to medical staff and healthcare providers looking for tips on supporting breastfeeding women, how to evaluate for different types of tongue tie, how to make their clinic more baby friendly and how to increase successful breastfeeding in their clients.
